Member Duties

Members are responsible for grounds keeping and for Race Committee Duty.  After the first of the year (probably around April 1, 2007), these duties will be assigned.  If you have a preference for what you would like to do and when, contact Lynn Geise for Race Committee Duty and/or Linda Goldyn for Grounds Keeping Duty.

 Grass Cutting is Assigned to the Members listed below but the members listed may not be available.  PLEASE-Volunteers are Welcome!

The Race Committee duties are assigned to those who participate in racing, the grounds duties apply to all who enjoy the club grounds.

Open Fleet Sailing

 

  • 2 races are scheduled starting at 1:30 pm on Sundays where no other events are scheduled
    • after July 4th possibly 3 races will be scheduled dependant on whether make-up races are needed

 

  • All Races will be scored using the Portsmouth Rating Standard

 

  • A possible 20 Open Sailing Races are scheduled for the season

 

  • The season will consist of the best 13 of  20 possible races
    • DNF, DNS and DSQ cannot be discarded

 

  • The High Scoring System will be in effect
    • First place and down = #boats beaten +2  (1st place of 6 = 7, 2nd = 6 etc)
    • DNS = 1. DNF = 2, DSQ = 0
